The social networking sphere has changed a lot since it was first introduced. More than just staying in touch with friends and family, social networking sites, particularly Facebook, now offers various features and options that take the entire social networking Facebook users often update their status messages with words or phrases that reflect their current state of mind, thoughts, emotions or any stuff that they want to share with their friends.

Sometimes, these statuses are used to reference families, friends, meetings that they are attending to or even simple events like grabbing a coffee with an old friend or visiting places of interest. If you want to tag a friend to your post, all you have to do is key in the symbol ‘@’ and type in the name of your friend that you would like to tag.

The system then generates an automatic drop-down menu that will list all of your friends and otherconnections and you simply have to click on a name to select. News has it that Facebook is now planning to launch a new tagging feature that will allow users to tag friends from their applications too. Don’t worry about the ‘@’ symbol because it will not be displayed after the tags are displayed.

Once your friends are tagged, they will receive a notification that they have been referenced. There will be a link on their wall that when clicked, automatically links them to your post. Of course, people that you tag will have the option to remove themselves.

Facebook and other social networking sites all aims at one thing—connecting you with people that you love including families, friends, co-workers, church groups and more. Using the amazing power of the new tagging feature or option, you can learn more about your family is doing and what they are thinking at the moment. They can easily share information about themselves, what they did and what they want you to be a significant part of.
